The first meeting of the Committee took place last Wednesday at the facilities of the Cebas-Csic of Murcia with the participation of Agromarketing and technicians of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Region of Murcia.<\/h3>\n

The agricultural event will take place on the days May 29 and 30, 2019 and will bring together world experts to discuss the latest advances in the treatment of microorganisms in agriculture.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

11-01-2019<\/strong>.-The selection of experts that will be part of the technical program of the I International Forum of Microorganisms applied to agriculture<\/a> has already begun. Last Wednesday, the first meeting of the Scientific Committee of the event took place, which will include Cebas-Csic researcher Carlos Garc\u00eda as president. It was precisely in the facilities of this renowned research center on the Espinardo campus of the University of Murcia where the meeting was held in which Arturo Soler also participated, representing the organizing company Agromarketing (www.agromarketing.es<\/a>), and Pedro Fern\u00e1ndez, as a technician of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Region of Murcia.<\/p>\n

The meeting focused on the four thematic blocks of the Forum that will deal with fertilizers of microbial origin, biostimulants, insecticides and nematicides from a point of scientific-technical view of the hand of experts at an international level with the purpose of solving the great uncertainty regarding the handling, application and current legislation regarding this type of products.<\/p>\n

An international reference<\/h3>\n

The president of the Scientific Committee, Carlos Garc\u00eda, is a reference in research on microorganisms applied to agriculture. Biochemist of the soil and organic waste, PhD from the University of Murcia, he worked between 2004 and 2009 as director of the Cebas and then coordinated the agricultural area of \u200b\u200bCsic from 2010 to 2014. He founded and chaired the Spanish Soil Enzymology Group , becoming responsible for EU research projects in the area of \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bAgriculture and Environment (Strep, Craft, Life, Inco, VII Framework Program).<\/p>\n

In its fight against abuse of agrochemicals in the fields, the group of Carlos Garc\u00eda is allied with universities and Italian companies in major European projects such as 'After-Cu' to create environmentally friendly anti-infectious molecules against pathogenic plant bacteria in order to reduce the consumption of copper in the farm; or from 'Evergreen', to generate biopesticides based on polyphenols (natural antioxidants present in plants).
