The first meeting of the Committee took place last Wednesday at the Cebas-Csic facilities in Murcia with the participation of Agromarketing and technicians from the Department of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Region of Murcia.<\/h3>

The agricultural event will take place on May 29 and 30, 2019 and will bring together world experts to discuss new advances in the treatment of microorganisms in agriculture.<\/h3><\/blockquote>

11-01-2019<\/strong>.-The selection of the experts that will be part of the technical program of the I International Forum of Microorganisms applied to agriculture<\/a> it has already started. Last Wednesday the first meeting of the Scientific Committee of the event took place, which will have Cebas-Csic researcher Carlos Garc\u00eda as president. It was precisely at the facilities of this renowned research center on the Espinardo campus of the University of Murcia where the meeting was held, in which Arturo Soler also participated, representing the organizing company Agromarketing (www.agromarketing.es<\/a>), and Pedro Fern\u00e1ndez, as a technician from the Department of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Region of Murcia.<\/p>

In the meeting, the four thematic blocks of the Forum were specified, which will deal with fertilizers of microbial origin, biostimulants, insecticides and nematicides from a scientific-technical point of view by international experts with the purpose of resolving the great uncertainty regarding to the management, application and current legislation regarding this type of products.<\/p>

An international benchmark<\/h3>
\u00a0<\/div>

The president of the Scientific Committee, Carlos Garc\u00eda, is a benchmark in research on microorganisms applied to agriculture. Soil and organic waste biochemist, with a PhD from the University of Murcia, he served as director of Cebas between 2004 and 2009 and later coordinated the agricultural area of the Csic from 2010 to 2014. He founded and chaired the Spanish Soil Enzymology Group, becoming responsible for EU research projects in the area of Agriculture and the Environment (Strep, Craft, Life, Inco, VII Framework Program).<\/p>

In its fight against the abuse of agrochemicals in the fields, Carlos Garc\u00eda's group joins forces with Italian universities and companies in large European projects such as 'After-Cu' to create anti-infectious environmental friendly molecules against plant pathogenic bacteria in order to reduce copper consumption in agriculture; or 'Evergreen', to generate biopesticides based on polyphenols (natural antioxidants present in plants).<\/p>
