Cristina Sempiterno, a researcher at INIAV (Instituto Nacional de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o Agr\u00e1ria e Veterin\u00e1ria, IP ), will participate as a speaker at the Microbiome Workshop 2020 to be held in Lisbon on March 25, where she will give a lecture on the modifications of the Portuguese legislation to the new regulations on the marketing of fertilizers.<\/span><\/p>

Dr. Sempiterno will clarify the doubts that have arisen about the new requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture of Portugal when registering products based on microorganisms in Portuguese territory.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In fact, the interest of the producing and marketing companies to know the details of the legislative framework in this matter is great, given the importance of regulated aspects in it, such as effectiveness tests, a matter in which Dr. Sempiterno is an expert.<\/p>

The INIAV center is the national laboratory of the Portuguese State whose mission is to carry out scientific and research policy in support of the execution of public policies aimed at the exploitation of biological resources, the defense of national interests and the continuation and deepening of common policies of the European Union.<\/p>

Ms. Cristina Sempiterno has a PhD in agricultural engineering from the Instituto Superior de Agronom\u00eda of the Iniversidade Tecnica de Lisboa and is a specialist, among other aspects related to fertilizers of microbial origin, in effectiveness studies and analysis of legislative proposals, being responsible at INIAV for the evaluation of evidence on the effectiveness of fertilizer materials.<\/p>
